If you can stand to venture away from the beautiful, comfortable facilities at Ox Pasture Hall Hotel (and that's a very big if), you'll find loads of family-friendly activities just miles away. Of course, if you're visiting and wanting a low-key break, there's loads to do around the country house hotel to keep you occupied. Catch some fresh air in one of the paved courtyards or snuggle with a book in front of a gentle fire in the lodge.
In addition to its bubbling fountains, quiet gardens and paved courtyards, Ox Pasture Hall Hotel is situated on farm property. Just a mere feet away from the hotel's reception is rolling pastures, perfect for taking a stroll along as the sun goes down across the Moors.
Extend your walk around the property for breathtaking views of the hotel and the land. My favourite view is this one, leading away from reception towards one of the courtyards.
Just beyond the courtyard is a lovely pasture that many of the suites overlook.
If you'd like to venture further afield, just outside the hotel is a lovely lake in Raincliffe Woods, just a few meters down the road.
But, when your stay at Ox Pasture comes to end, take some time exploring the surrounding area. Just a few miles into town is the Scarborough coast, a craggy, rocky seaside area with your typical seaside amusements.
Back across the moors, in the village of Helmsley is Rievaulx Abbey. A lovely ruined abbey at the heart of a small village. Pack your walking boots and have a wander around the village and this 12th Century abbey.
I hope you all have enjoyed this journey to Ox Pasture Hall Hotel and its surrounding areas.
